When Life Has It's Problems

I was driving home from work and since I live west, I face the sun the entire way. It's not the best sunset I've ever seen, but I thought it was worthy of having it's picture taken. I went back to my place on top of Fort Worth. I had absolutely no desire to take any pictures, just snap the sun and go home. But of course, I ended up taking a few more. I tried to stay away from my normal "up close at odd angles" and try some straight shots and landscapes. When I got home and uploaded the pictures, I realized that unbenounced to me, my subconscious had formed my thoughts onto film:

Life is calm.

There are no concerns, no thoughts of doubt, no disorder at all.

Perfection.

Suddenly, the way becomes uneven.

Decisions have to be made.

Which way is right?

How will I know?

Because of uncertainty, a crack begins to form.

You can see the other side looks so bleak.

So desolate.
So painful.

It worsens.

The deep crevice is trying to divide that which was once inseparable.

But as soon as the gap is wide enough and all hope seems lost...a peice of color springs forward.
Though the crack seemed horrible, it let hidden beauty grow through.
Because of something so ugly and degrading, new life thrives.

But what was once perfect, now has a small flaw.
It doesn't ruin the picture.
It makes it even more amazing.
Stronger.

And in the end, something magnificent is received...

Peace.

"101 Secrets" Pool Shoot

I text my director Aron on Tuesday after a 2 month hiatus from working on the film. At the very moment I sent him the text, he was standing in line at the Post Office sending in the acceptance letter for a Film Grant Nomination. If he gets this money, the film will be able to have enough financial backing to make sure everything he wants to happen does. The movie is great already, but a little green never hurt anyone.....

So I went tonight to finish up a scene that we never got to shoot. Eight months ago. When my hair was waaayyy different.

This is the antithesis of the last time we shot in the pool. It's the same concept (consultation with the wacko doctor) but this is not a dream sequence, it's real life. Supposedly. I'm not really sure anymore, I just do what Aron says to do ^_^

YAY LIST:
1. I didn't lose goodness and gain suck at acting
2. It wasn't 105 degrees this time around
3. I got to set up a couple shots and direct Aron a few times

The oh-so-talented Mad Dog...
He plays the docter (notice the white coat)

A light with a blue gel on it.
Which I had to hold in place for forever because the wind was blowing.

The doctor's "office"

The running theme of every movie set: wires
Everywhere.
Lots and lots of wires.
